Writing For Emotional Impact changed everything for me. It's the best book out there on screenwriting and I don't understand people don't really know about it. Also one of my favorites. It covers the most important thing that many other books skip over: how to make the reader/viewer FEEL SOMETHING. The "Best Horror of the Year" collections edited by Ellen Datlow are phenomenal, and there's a Best of the Best Of's as well. "Song For the Unraveling of the World" by Brian Evenson is a collection I adore, as are "Books of Blood" by Barker. H. P. Lovecraft is very good at dread-inducing existential horror, and I recommend you read that.
